I enjoyed it since I like the history of feudal japan Honourable mentions (mount and blade in X): I saw past that and the dark path allows you to smash up all those cliches and do it realistically anyway! VERY recommended! The characters in particular are interesting, but the story is kinda full of anime cliches. Plays out like a final fantasy game with massive mount and blade battles. I recommend disabling the additional "features" since they work as handicaps that affect only youħ) Light and Darkess: Heroes of Calradia - a very cool and heavily scripted fantasy adventure. Plus there are quests for legendary items which I always enjoy in a mod. There are no OP units and it's a difficult mod.

It wouldn't be on my top list without the quests for special items thoughĥ) Phantasy - the vanilla map, looks like crap, but there are fantasy races, special items and most importantly, a functional magic and miracle system! Seriously its really cool!Ħ) Brytenwalda - feels a bit dark and confusing, but when you get going it's a challenging and cool mod. It does have cool quests for rare items though. I was drawn to it because it's based on a Game of Thrones. Huge map, interesting quests and emergent factionsģ) 1257 AD - special recruitment options and an interesting mapĤ) Clash of Kings - kind of vanilla ish. Qualis gems, unique items, massive bandit stats, custom knight orders (make your own units) and more!Ģ) Perisno - similiar deal as PoP but not to as great an extent. I like things that bring something new to the table, these will freshen up your game:ġ) Prophesy of Pendor - as mentioned, a ton of amazing features.
